Speaking of summer signings, Newcastle United may already have their first one lined up.
Amid speculation that Newcastle will have to sell some of their big hitters, it’s also important to remember that the Magpies will be looking to replace and strengthen if this were to come to fruition.

Mikel Arteta influenced Newcastle signing
Whilst new signings are all well and good, Howe needs to be commended for some of the signings he’s already brought in.
The likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak have all been inspired.
But it was someone even before the time of Howe that current Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta had an influence in bringing to the Newcastle United Training Centre.
Newcastle can’t do without one player…
Injuries have robbed Newcastle United of much consistency this season.
While blaming absences and the subsequent fatigue relying on so few player’s causes as the only reasons for Newcastle’s relative malaise this time around feels somewhat lazy, it clearly has not helped.
But, for the most part, one player has remained a constant presence in the first-team squad. And thank god he has.
