Eddie Howe has been very vocal in his praise for Newcastle United winger Miguel Almiron following his excellent goal against Burnley yesterday.

Miguel Almiron scored his second goal in as many Premier League games yesterday curling a scintillating effort into the top corner to open the scoring.

It was a trademark goal by the Paraguayan winger who loves cutting in from the right wing and unleashing a devastating left-foot effort goalwards.

Eddie Howe says there’s nobody better at what Miggy does

Speaking to The Shields Gazette after the game, Howe was asked if there’s anyone better at that move than Almiron.

“No. He’s a unique footballer,” said Howe.

“I don’t think there is anyone better at doing what he does. He’s all energy, all action. I’d like to see his physical stats from the game because I’m sure they’ll be through the roof.

“The quality shown on his finish was very reminiscent of some of his goals scored last year. He’s had a great return to form, Miggy, and he’s such an important player for us.”

When Almiron’s confidence his high good things happen

Once Miguel Almiron gets his confidence up there’s no stopping him. We saw him go on an incredible run of goals last season, now with two in his last two league games, could we be about to see another run?

When Miggy cuts inside and gets into position, you know that nine times out of 10 he’s going to hit the target, and several of those efforts will curl their way into the net.

Here’s hoping that this is just the start of another blinding run of form by Miggy.
