Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe spoke highly of an important factor since he arrived back in November. Speaking to talkSPORT, he had very kind words for the supporters.
“We have built up a relationship with the supporters and they have been amazing to me,” he said.
Since the arrival of the new owners and Howe, St James’ Park has changed for the better. The crowds are arriving in full force and in great voice.
In addition, the flags have made a return to the stadium. St James’ Park is once again starting to feel like a fortress with its atmosphere and vibrant support.

‘Naturally you have to evolve’: Howe has had to make changes since arriving at Newcastle
The Newcastle boss spoke about his approach to the job and how special the Magpies are as a club.
“Naturally, you evolve and you have to do this for the club that you’re at,” he told TalkSPORT.
“To say I am the same manager would not necessarily suit Newcastle. I have tweaked and changed, but you don’t really change your footballing principles or your way of managing. It is a unique football club.

“It is the heartbeat of the city, an amazing stadium to play in, the atmosphere is incredible, the supporters around the city are so united in the support of their club and proud of their club.”
Since his arrival, Howe has certainly had an impact, especially since the new year. In 2022 his side is undefeated and haven’t lost a Premier League match in seven games.
Newcastle’s current sqaud have benefitted just as much as the new arrivals
The improvement the Toon have made doesn’t just come from the strong business they did in January. Many of the players that Howe inherited from the current squad have vastly improved.
Newcastle’s midfield three of Joe Willock, Jonjo Shelvey and Joelinton have become a deadly component. So much so that new boy Bruno Guimaraes has struggled to get minutes since his arrival.

Ryan Fraser has seen an improvement in form for the Magpies. His reunion with his ex-Bournemouth manager has done wonders for him. His performance against Brentford this past weekend was hailed by some fans as his best since he joined in 2020.
The way that they approach games now is so different to under the previous manager Steve Bruce. Newcastle now seems to believe they can go out there and take on anyone. Drawing with West Ham and beating Aston Villa demonstrates how far the club has come.
Howe, along with his side, has brought back a lot of belief. When he took over many tipped them for relegation – they’re now 14th in the league and are proving the doubters wrong.
