Eddie Howe was asked if he will use the Carabao Cup fixture against Manchester City to utilise his full Newcastle United squad.
The Carabao Cup has historically been a competition where Premier League managers tend to heavily rely on squad rotation to keep their best players fit for other competitions, particularly in the early rounds.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has already hinted that he will be doing just that tomorrow when his side faces Newcastle United, and now Eddie Howe has suggested the same.
Howe has not ruled out a start for Lewis Miley
As Eddie Howe spoke to the media this morning he emphasised that Newcastle will be taking the competition seriously after reaching the final last year, saying that they want to win every game.
However, Howe also suggested there could be room for him to make changes in the line-up, although he was keen to point out that he’d still not made any decisions on the starting XI.

Howe was asked if 17-year-old Lewis Miley, who impressed in pre-season, could be in line for his first senior start for the club with the gaffer saying (via The Chronicle): “There’s a chance, as I say I haven’t got all the information I need before picking my squad yet. He’s someone who’s done really well.”
Newcastle fans have high hopes for Lewis Miley
Miley made his senior debut on the final game of last season coming off the bench against Chelsea and the ‘exciting‘ youngster almost marked the occasion with a goal.

Since then the younger of the Miley brothers featured often for the Magpies in pre-season while older brother Jamie also made a couple of outings.
Lewis is the one that has caught the Toon Army’s attention and they will be hoping that he gets his chance to show us what he can do again against Manchester City tomorrow night.
