Newcastle United are almost at the safety of the international break.
While the pausing of Premier League action is not exactly exciting, Newcastle are at least afforded the chance to recover a number of players from injury.
Indeed, there is hope the likes of Alexander Isak and Sven Botman will return after the break, which would be a huge boost for Eddie Howe.
First, however, there’s the small matter of a trip down to Bournemouth.
A game Howe will be expected to win given the form his former side have been in this season, he could be without another former Cherries face for the journey.
Newcastle injuries: Callum Wilson could miss Bournemouth game
Callum Wilson, Newcastle’s only recognised striker, could miss the game.
The 31-year-old was brought off against Borussia Dortmund as a result of a hamstring injury, Wilson was called into the England squad for their Euro 2024 qualifiers later this month.
Still, even despite that, Howe is far from certain the £20m star will feature on the south coast.
“We’re doing various tests. He was called up by England, so we’re waiting to see if he’ll be fit for this game and then make a decision (on international duty) later,” he said (via The Northern Echo).
“We’re going to see how he is this morning. Gareth, England and ourselves will be in constant communication anyway, as we are with all our international players, to make sure their welfare is thought about at all times.”

Callum Wilson: Little point in risking Newcastle star
The idea of playing Anthony Gordon up front might not be ideal given his frustrating outing there in Dortmund on Tuesday.
Still, risking Wilson would be unwise.
With Isak still not back and not without a reasonably worrying injury record himself, playing the only other striker in the squad while not fully fit himself seems unwise.
Newcastle should still have enough to beat Bournemouth, after all.
