Newcastle United fell 3-0 to Brighton last night, in what was a new case for worst performance of the season.
The Magpies put in another awful display in what was a must-win contest.
The Seagulls were better in every single department, and crucially just wanted the three points more.

Although Newcastle made it an easy night’s work for Brighton, some of their football was fantastic at times.
They haven’t always got the results this season, but they are undoubtedly a good watch under Graham Potter.
The contrast between the two gameplans was stark and towards the end of the game, ex-Premier League midfielder turned ESPN pundit Don Hutchison got to thinking about where Newcastle would be if Potter was at the helm and not Steve Bruce.
He tweeted: “Graham Potter with the Newcastle squad the way Brighton play. I reckon G Potter would have Newcastle 11th-13th.
When challenged by a fan, he added: “G Potter would at least have Newcastle playing better football. Brighton are bopping Newcastle off the pitch here!”
Potter joined the Seagulls in May 2019 to replace Chris Hughton, and guided the club to a 15th-placed finish in his first term with their highest-ever Premier League points tally of 41.
Potter would be a superb Bruce replacement
Newcastle fans know that it is futile to talk about Bruce being replaced as head coach.

But hypothetically, Potter would be such a brilliant addition for the club.
He is working wonders at Brighton, and their style of football is extremely refreshing considering they are not a big-spending club.
On paper, Newcastle have players of greater quality than Brighton and Potter would surely be getting much more out of them.
