Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react after reports emerged revealing that Burnley are on the verge of being taken over, but in controversial circumstances.
As reported by The Express, Sean Dyche’s side are close to being taken over by Chris Farnell and Egyptian businessman Mohamed El Kashashy, who will purchase the club from Mike Garlick.

Both Farnell and El Kashashy have signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA), while proof of funding has been passed and the Owners’ and Directors’ test also cleared.
The latter is something that PCP Capital Partners, the Reuben Brothers and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF) did not pass when the Premier League ran their bid through the Owners’ and Directors’ test, as a statement on Newcastle’s official site revealed.
As seen below, Newcastle fans are up in arms about this.
What makes Burnley’s proposed takeover controversial is the fact that Farnell failed the Championship’s very own Owners’ and Directors’ test, which happened due to an administrative error according to The Express.

In his defence, a hearing overturned that decision and he is now free to take the reins at another club.
However, that hasn’t stopped the Newcastle fans on Twitter reacting with annoyance after hearing that Burnley are on the verge of a takeover, while the Magpies’ own proposed takeover stalls.
Let’s see what they’ve been saying on Twitter about this update…
