Allan Saint-Maximin was in fine fettle once again yesterday, as Newcastle United rescued a draw against Liverpool.

The Magpies were behind for virtually the whole game following Mo Salah’s early strike for the hosts.

But Joe Willock popped up at the death to salvage a point for the Magpies – which could be crucial in keeping the club in the Premier League.

There are now nine points separating Newcastle and Fulham with five games to go, and things are looking very promising.

Yesterday’s performance was full of heart again, and there were some fine individual showings.

Saint-Maximin was a huge threat for the Toon once again, and was lapped up by supporters on social media.

Also watching on was ex-Toon favourite Demba Ba, who’s feelings about ASM are very clear judging by the tweet he sent yesterday:

He wrote: “How much I would’ve loved to play with @asaintmaximin. What a baller he is.”

Saint-Maximin responded with: “It’s a great honour for me that you say that.”

A scary combination

Ba would’ve loved to play with Saint-Maximin, and there’s probably not a Newcastle fan out there that wouldn’t have loved to see that.

Those two playing together in the same team would have been a frightening prospect for defenders.

At least Saint-Maximin’s link-up play with Callum Wilson is threatening to explode.
