Former Newcastle United midfielder Darren Ambrose has stated that Isaac Hayden needs to leave the club as soon as possible.

Eddie Howe has already made it clear that there is no future for Isaac Hayden at Newcastle United. The midfielder was due to leave St James’ Park on a loan switch to newly promoted Luton Town, but that move has broken down, as reported by Chronicle Live.

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards has stated that Hayden is “a good player but unfortunately we couldn’t quite agree a deal.”

The 28-year-old has no chance of featuring for the Magpies this season. He needs to find a new exit route before the transfer window closes.

Darren Ambrose has encouraged Hayden to hurry up and sort his future out. Speaking on Sky Sports’ Transfer Show (28/08/23 at 7:25 pm), the retired Newcastle man said, “he has to get out of Newcastle, let’s be honest. He’s way, way down the pecking order. I don’t think he is going to play.”

A move that Hayden and Newcastle both need

Hayden spent last season on loan with Norwich City in the Championship. However, the former Arsenal academy ace was restricted to just 14 league outings for the Canaries as knee injuries disrupted his campaign.

At this stage in his career, Hayden needs to be playing regularly. He has been a fantastic servant for Newcastle, amassing 171 appearance for the Tyneside outfit since his arrival in 2016. However, Howe has now led the club to a point beyond Hayden’s ability to effectively contribute.

It is a shame that the player’s touted move to Kenilworth Road collapsed. He would have stood a great chance of being a regular starter for the Hatters, and would have retained his status as a Premier League player in the process.

Newcastle will now be hoping that another viable suitor for Hayden comes forward before the transfer deadline passes. The player himself needs to be doing all he can on his part to drum up interest in his services and facilitate a move.
