Cristiano Ronaldo trains ahead of Newcastle United game

Cristiano Ronaldo has began training with Manchester United ahead of Saturday’s game against Newcastle United.

Old Trafford is somewhere Newcastle often struggle, making this weekend’s return to club football somewhat worrying.

However, things will be even more difficult if Ronaldo makes his second debut for the Red Devils.

The 36-year-old re-joined Manchester United on deadline day, while Newcastle were refusing to pay a loan fee for literally anyone.

The two clubs are a million miles apart, despite both sets of fans feeling anger towards their owners.

But while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be pondering whether or not to start the £73million Jadon Sancho, Steve Bruce will wonder which players from the 2017 Championship side he should pick.

In fact, Solskjaer will be spoilt for choice as it looks like his latest signing Ronaldo will be ready to go on Saturday.

His Portugal duties ended early, meaning he can now prepare for his Manchester United return.

On Tuesday he trained with his new teammates for the first time.

Manchester United released a TikTok of Ronaldo heading out onto the training pitch at Carrington with Juan Mata – a terrifying prospect for Toon fans.

Things are tough enough already for Newcastle right now. We’ve had an awful start to the season.

A second Manchester United debut for Ronaldo will only make things more difficult for the Magpies.

While Solskjaer is welcoming CR7 into his squad, Bruce will have to find a way of succeeding at Old Trafford without Callum Wilson and possibly Miguel Almiron too. At least he’s had a holiday to Portugal to recharge his batteries…
