Newcastle United have won the 2024/2025 edition of the Carabao Cup.
After 70 years of heartbreaking, Newcastle United have finally won a trophy again after defeating Liverpool 2-1 in the Carabao Cup final.
Dan Burn and Alexander Isak got the crucial goals in the victory, with Federico Chiesa’s late strike only causing a few nervy minutes at the end.
Eddie Howe played a blinder in his tactical set-up while every player was sensational at Wembley to secure a historic win.
Here is everything that happened in Newcastle’s triumphant League Cup campaign.

Carabao Cup 2024/25 changes
With the fixture list increasing once again this season as UEFA expand their competitions, the Carabao Cup was forced to make adjustments to fit in but it only impacted the third round.
Instead of being played over a single midweek as usual, the third round instead took place over two sets of midweek fixtures to accommodate the teams competing in Europe. Those sides were seeded in the draw and couldn’t play one another.
