Newcastle United’s tough start to the season is seemingly not about to get any easier.
The Magpies have not yet won a game in 2021/22.

Steve Bruce has so far overseen defeats to West Ham United and Aston Villa, and a draw against Southampton.
The club have also gone out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of Burnley.
Some tricky games are coming up in the form of Manchester United and Leeds United, and it seems Newcastle might be missing one of their key players.
The Shields Gazette reported at the weekend that Callum Wilson is actually potentially looking at a number of weeks on the sidelines.

The striker had to depart the action against Southampton with around 20 minutes to go after he had scored in the game.
He confirmed afterwards that it was a thigh problem, and revealed he had actually been struggling with it since the first-half.
Wilson news further underlines need for quality back-up
Given his record with injuries, this will probably not come as a surprise to many.
Wilson, who earns at least £70,000-a-week (The Athletic), is a top striker but the sad reality is that he is fragile.
The injuries he picks up tend to rule him out for weeks at a time rather than the odd game.

It means Newcastle have to rely on the likes of Dwight Gayle and Joelinton. Both have poor Premier League goalscoring records.
The situation only further validates the idea of Newcastle signing another quality centre-forward.
