Callum Roberts has confirmed on Twitter that his time as a Newcastle player is over.
The youngster joined League Two side Colchester United on loan in January, but returned to the North East in March.

The 22-year-old had a brief spell with the first-team in January, scoring in the FA Cup third round replay against Blackburn. Sadly, that was as good as it got for Roberts as a senior Newcastle player.
The midfielder’s contract is set to expire this summer, and there have been reports that he could be heading to Greece with Panathinaikos.

Whether or not that move comes to fruition remains to be seen, but Roberts confirmed on his official Twitter account that he is leaving Newcastle, thanking everyone for their support.
Would like to thank everyone associated with @NUFC for my time at the club. From progressing through every age group to playing and scoring in the first team is things i will never forget. I would also like to thank all the coaching staff and players ive played with….(1/2)

Who will follow Roberts out the door?
This is set to be a huge summer of change at Newcastle. Roberts is just the first of many who will leave the club.
There is still a chance that Rafa Benitez leaves.
Salomon Rondon, Kenedy and Antonio Barreca will return to their parents club with their loan deals now over.

Mo Diame’s contract is set to expire.
Isaac Hayden wants to move back down south. There have been rumours that Jonjo Shelvey and Matt Ritchie could be sold. Then there’s the likes of Dwight Gayle and Jack Colback who will return from their loan spells needing to sort their future.
And don’t forget about Henri Saivet!
Newcastle’s squad will look very different come the start of the next Premier League season. Hopefully it’s for the better…
