England’s 21-year-old super star Bukayo Saka has shared that he has a connection to Newcastle United.
Arsenal‘s young mega star, Bukayo Saka provided an assist and scored a world-class goal for England last night at Wembley as they grabbed a 2-0 win over Ukraine in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. The win cemented their place at the top of Group C with two wins out of two.
Saka burst onto the scene with some extremely impressive displays for Arsenal quickly earning him a call-up to Gareth Southgate‘s senior England squad where he’s become one of the stand-out players for his country along with Jude Bellingham.
Saka’s dad could be the key to a move to Tyneside
There’s not a team in the Premier League that Saka wouldn’t improve, he’s that good. And while it will be virtually impossible to lure him away from Arsenal, Saka has revealed in the past that he’s got a connection to Newcastle which could come in handy later down the line.
Speaking after his Arsenal debut against Manchester United at Old Trafford, Saka said: “I was standing on the pitch at Old Trafford. I’d been here 10 years earlier with my dad, sitting in the away end with the Newcastle fans. My dad supported Newcastle because he loved Alan Shearer.”
That’s definitely useful information for when Newcastle reach full speed and start dominating the world of club football and can tempt the world’s best players to St James’ Park. While Arsenal may be where Saka’s heart lies, that soft spot for Newcastle due to his dad could put us in the driving seat should the time come where Saka fancies a new challenge.

This season the right wing sensation has made 38 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions helping himself to 13 goals and providing 10 assists along the way.
Imagine prime Bukayo Saka at Newcastle
His performance against Ukraine last night typified Saka, laying the ball on a plate for Harry Kane to bag his 55th England goal before scoring a Miguel-Almiron-esque worldie, cutting in from the right and curling in a sublime left-footed effort into the top corner.
It may be a few years away before Newcastle could possibly sign Saka from Arsenal, but he’s only 21 so there’s a chance we could pick him up in his prime.
We can dream can’t we?
