Bruno Guimaraes thanks the club for latest training ground equipment

Newcastle United are determined to keep hold of Bruno Guimaraes this summer with several clubs interested in acquiring the Brazilian’s services. They’ve now added a new feature at the Benton training ground that has made Bruno very happy.

Using his Instagram reels, Bruno has thanked Newcastle for installing a new Footvolley court to the Darsley Park training centre. The image of the new court was accompanied by a touching message from Bruno: “If one day I was sad, I forgot it! Thanks for it @NUFC”

While it may be obvious from the name and indeed the court image, Footvolley is essentially beach volleyball that you play with your feet. Simple really.

It seems that Bruno is a big fan and it definitely sounds like something that our South American contingent would flourish playing as many of them honed their skills playing street football before making the step up to the professional game.

We’ve seen images of the lads playing a heading version of table tennis in training previously, and this is a natural evolution of that idea. Hopefully we’ll soon be treated to some videos on social media of the lads challenging Bruno and Joelinton to a game.

More training ground innovation at Newcastle will lead to happier players

Installing the court is a clever move by the club as they look to do everything in their power to keep their top talent at the club, and it definitely seems to have worked on Bruno. The 25-year-old is being eyed by some of Europe’s top clubs with Real Madrid very keen to pry our star asset away from us.

While it always felt unlikely that Bruno would leave Newcastle any time soon anyway, the club doing things like providing Footvolley courts certainly won’t harm their chances of keeping him around.

I’m sure there’s more to the court’s addition to the training ground than just to keep Bruno happy, but it’s definitely a very welcome bonus. Adding things like a Footvolley court will also help to attract new players to Newcastle as the better the facilities, the more likely bigger stars are likely to want to move to Tyneside.
