Bruno Guimaraes has given Newcastle fans a taste of what to expect when he arrives in the North East.
The 24-year-old joined the Magpies last week, signing a four-and-a-half year deal. He arrives from Lyon, costing a potential club record £40million.
However, Guimarares is yet to arrive in the region to being on international duty. His native Brazil faced Paraguay last night, where the new Magpie faced on of his new teammates.

But sadly for Miguel Almiron, his nation were taught a footballing lesson by Guimaraes and co.
Assist for Bruno Guimaraes, despair for Almiron
The South American sides met in a World Cup qualifier in the early hours of the morning. Guimaraes started the game on the bench, but was introduced in the 73rd minute, replacing Aston Villa’s Philippe Coutinho.

Despite only being on the pitch for less than 20 minutes, the new Toon midfielder certainly impressed. He touched the ball 28 times and attempted 24 passes, completing 96% of them.
He won a couple of tackles too, proving his defensive proficiency.
Guimaraes’ shining moment came in the 88th minute. He started an attack from deep with a forward pass, before eventually bursting into the box to put a chance on a plate for Rodrygo. The Real Madrid man obliged, making it 4-0 to Brazil and giving Guimaraes an assist on his fourth international appearance.

The fourth Brazilian goal gives Toon fans a glimpse of what they can expect from Guimaraes. The way he kicked off the move from deep was fantastic, and then he had the energy to make the difference in the final third.
Described as a ‘pretty complete’ midfielder by Ligue 1 expert Robin Bairner, Guimaraes is such an exciting signing by Newcastle.
He’ll be on his way to the North East soon, and will hopefully make his Toon debut on Tuesday night against Everton. Before then he’ll meet his new teammates, but Almiron has seen firsthand just how good the Magpies’ new number 39 is.
