Newcastle United’s star Brazilian Bruno Guimaraes was full of love for Kieran Trippier on the defender’s Instagram after Newcastle’s emphatic 2-0 win over Manchester United.

As Newcastle fans partied into the night the player’s celebrations continued on social media as the team patted each other on the back for a job well done.

Kieran Trippier posted a few choice pictures from the game on his Instagram drawing comments from fans and teammates alike, but it was Bruno‘s response that stands out: “You are massive player bro”

Bruno tells it how it is on Trippier’s Instagram post

Bruno is saying what we’re all thinking. It’s crazy to think that we paid just £12million for Kieran Trippier last year. Eddie Howe should wear a mask and a striped jumper because we absolutely stole him from Atletico Madrid.

Trippier has been a rock both on and off the pitch since he came through the doors at St James’ Park and it’s not a coincidence that Newcastle have got so much better since he and Bruno Guimaraes arrived. Combined their quality, class and passion have absolutely transformed Newcastle.

Add Eddie Howe into that mix and it’s little wonder that Newcastle are flying high this season.

We’ve still got more to come from Trippier

I’ve been an admirer of Kieran Trippier for years so when it came out that we were getting him at Newcastle I was buzzing, but also slightly cautious as Tripps was the wrong side of 30 when we signed him, and I’m of that generation when players hit 30 years old and were finished. Thankfully, these days top players are starting to play into their forties at the highest level.

I think we’ve still got a few more years of peak Trippier to come which is fantastic, and I also believe he will be a coach under Howe when he hangs up his boots.

For now though, let’s enjoy his playing days as he elevates the club to a level it should have been at for years now. A truly massive player indeed. Well said, Bruno.
