Bruno Guimaraes has sent a message to Newcastle United supporters after an eight-goal thriller with Luton Town yesterday.

It’s not the result Newcastle will have wanted at all, but it was certainly an exciting game to watch as a neutral and a great advert for the Premier League.

After the game, Bruno posted on Instagram to express how disappointed he was to not get the three points for the team but reassured fans that they will stick together and come back stronger.

Bruno and Newcastle left frustrated by Luton

It was a difficult game for Newcastle who knew they had the better quality in the team but were frustrated by the physicality and determination of Luton as they left St James’ Park with a point.

Eddie Howe will be very disappointed not to have secured the win on Saturday, especially after what was such an impressive performance in the middle of the week against Aston Villa.

During the game, it appeared as though Bruno was playing a more advanced role which looked to pay off after a beautiful pass over the defence and onto Kieran Trippier to make it 4-3, but it just wasn’t enough to win the game.

Knowing his passion and enthusiasm for this team, Bruno will almost definitely have been left very disappointed that thy could not get over the line after Harvey Barnes’ equaliser on the 73rd minute.

On social media, Bruno said: “One of the craziest games I’ve ever been involved in! Sad that we didn’t get the 3 points. We have to stay together regardless of everything and we know we can do better!”.

Newcastle have to be more clinical in these games

Coming into this game, Newcastle still had confidence and belief that Champions League football wasn’t out of the question yet despite being 11 points behind Aston Villa in the table.

However, there was almost a sense that they believed the points were already wrapped up before a ball was even kicked, and Luton have thrived off of teams underestimating them so far this season.

In the past Newcastle have found it very difficult to play against teams set up in a low block ready to counter and that proved true again yesterday as they were caught out time and time again on the break.

If they want to be serious contenders at the top of the league then it’s something Howe and his staff are going to have to solve or they’ll risk being found out once again.
