As much Newcastle United fans love Joelinton, that love pales into insignificance compared to the love Bruno Guimaraes has for his teammate.
After months of waiting, Joelinton has finally been called up to the Brazil national team and Newcastle‘s midfield powerhouse wasted no time announcing himself to the rest of the squad with a superb goal in training.
It was so impressive that the video was tweeted out by TNT Sports Brazil. It showed Joelinton at his best, receiving a pass and bringing the ball under control, turning a defender inside out and finishing high above the ‘keeper.
Bruno knows the score with Joelinton, soon all of Brazil will too
However, that’s not what impressed his Newcastle teammate, Bruno Guimaraes who posted an image of Joelinton in action to his Instagram reel with the caption: “Will protect a bank”.
Newcastle fans know all too well just how much of a brick wall Joelinton is and with rumours circulating that Joelinton is in line to start against Guinea on Saturday, the Brazil fans will soon come to realise what they’ve been missing too.
Joelinton looks set to make his debut on Saturday
A graphic was released on Twitter by TNT Sports BR showing how the Brazil side lined up in training and Joelinton was in the team alongside Lucas Paqueta and Casemiro. Ironically it looks as though Joelinton has usurped his best mate, Bruno. I’m sure he won’t mind too much, though.
If Joelinton does start on Saturday it will mark the completion of the greatest turnaround in football history. Going from being the laughing stock of the Premier League to being a full blown Brazilian international. I’m so proud I could cry.
I’m sure many Newcastle fans will be keeping an eye on the game on Saturday to see how our beast performs.
