Newcastle United fans are already loving Bruno Guimaraes.

The club’s record signing has now started a couple of games back-to-back for the club, having had to be patient for a proper chance.

Bruno arrived at the club in January as one of five new faces.

It had been a fairly low-key start for the Brazilian, with Jonjo Shelvey, Joe Willock and Joelinton performing really well in midfield for Eddie Howe.

But he finally got a chance to start against Southampton, whom he scored an absolutely unreal goal against.

He then featured from the start against Chelsea on Sunday, with Shelvey, Willock and Joelinton all unavailable.

He’s only been around for five minutes, but the player’s quality is abundantly clear.

Without doubt, he is going to be a really exciting addition for the club.

And it seems Bruno isn’t just a really good footballer.

He’s also pretty studious, with the star’s agent revealing he is working hard to master the English language.

He told Foot Mercato: “Bruno studies English every day with the same teacher who taught him French.”

Foot Mercato add that the South American was actually able to pick up a good level of French in just a few weeks after joining Lyon.

He is clearly quite an intelligent individual. Hopefully, he’ll be in a really good place with his English before long.

Many footballers seek to learn the language of the country they have just moved to.

But few probably undertake lessons every day.

It is something that really shows Bruno’s commitment to settling as quickly as possible at Newcastle.

It shows he is someone looking to better himself away from the pitch. That can only be a good thing.

Some players hardly make any effort at all to learn a new language after completing a transfer to a club in a foreign country.

It seems Newcastle are very much onto a winner with Bruno. And who knows, perhaps he will even soon pick up a bit of Geordie lingo.
