Newcastle United took maximum points over a busy period that saw the lads play three games in seven days, two of which were on the road and Dan Burn has praised the team’s character after their achievement.
Speaking to the Shields Gazette after the 2-1 win over Brentford, Dan Burn reflected on how important the feat was to the team: “Huge, we were a bit slow starting after the winter break but now we’ve settled into a rhythm and it keeps coming thick and fast.
“Three games that quick and to pick up maximum points shows the character and togetherness in the squad.”
Dan Burn is sick of the sight of his teammates
Burn went on to joke about staying in London between the fixtures at West Ham and Brentford: We need to get away from each other for a bit – sick of the sight of them,” he laughed.
Turning his attention to the upcoming trip to Birmingham to face Aston Villa which will round out the trio of back-to-back away games, Burn said: “Obviously Villa got another good result [against Nottingham Forest]. They’re flying so we’ll have to be at our best.”

Aston Villa now find themselves in sixth place in the Premier League which is a phenomenal turnaround considering they were in that relegation dogfight under Steven Gerrard. Unai Emery, who was linked with the Newcastle job before Eddie Howe took over, has done an unbelievable job turning the Villains around.
Newcastle have had a tough start to April but have come through it well
Saturday’s game will be our biggest test in a while and it seems that Dan Burn is more than aware of that.
If we come away with a positive result against Villa then I’d say we’ve come through one of our trickiest spells given the fixture congestion and the back-to-back away games. Add to that the fact we faced our top four rivals and are now set to face one of the league’s most in-form sides, April hasn’t been kind but we’ve done exceptionally well.
