Newcastle recorded their third successive win of the season against Burnley on Monday and Rafa Benitez is now a front runner for the Premier League’s monthly manager award.

It’s a victory which has seen the Toon once again climb up the Premier League table, this time into 13th place.

At the end of October, Newcastle were sat in 19th after failing to win any of their opening 10 matches.

But Benitez continued to show belief in his squad and his tactics, and remarkably, he has managed to steady a sinking ship.

Wins against in-form Watford and Bournemouth were particularly impressive results in what has been an unbelievable turnaround.

There is a still a long season ahead, but the Spaniard has had a fantastic November and has earned some early praise after a rough start.

Many Newcastle fans certainly believe his short-term achievements deserve the Manager of the Month award.

The other contenders

Although Benitez’s three wins on the trot will be tough to beat, he’s not the only manager working miracles this month.

While Newcastle fans believe Manager of the Month is a certainty for Benitez, Huddersfield fans feel very much the same way about their man in the dugout.

David Wagner has similarly guided The Terriers through November undefeated, with two wins and a draw.

Huddersfield had also gone their opening 10 games without a win and had sat bottom of the table at the end of October.

Only their inferior goal difference had kept them behind Newcastle.

But they have also sprung from the relegation zone after good results, currently sitting in 15th.

The only other teams to win all their Premier League games for November were Manchester City and Spurs.

Guardiola’s side have been in unstoppable form, notably beating rivals Manchester United 3-1 before the international break.

But Pochettino’s Spurs have been equally impressive. They ended Chelsea’s undefeated start to the season with a 3-1 win at the weekend.

Benitez, however, has arguably surpassed these feats as he continues to defy expectations with his squad.

If you had told anyone a month ago that Newcastle would go undefeated in November, they simply wouldn’t have believed you.
