According to the Athletic, Arsenal will likely send William Saliba out on loan this summer, amid links with Newcastle.
That’s because they’re reportedly set to sign another central defender – Ben White.
The Athletic claim that the Gunners are close to completing a deal for the Brighton man which could be worth up to £50million.
White is currently on international duty as part of England’s Euro 2020 squad. The 23-year-old is yet to feature at the tournament.

If Arsenal do sign White, the Athletic state it is ‘most probable‘ that Saliba leaves Arsenal on loan once again.
That could be good news for Newcastle, who have been heavily linked with a temporary move for the defender.
Will William Saliba end up at Newcastle on loan?
Despite signing for Arsenal back in 2019, Saliba is yet to make his debut.
He initially returned to St Etienne on loan as part of his £27million switch to the Emirates.

Saliba’s second season started in north London, but he failed to get into the first-team. He was sent on loan to Nice in January, where he impressed.
But despite playing well in Ligue 1, it doesn’t look like Saliba well get a chance at Arsenal next season.
That’s strange considering they spent a lot of money on him. Yet rather than give him the chance to prove his worth, Arsenal are going to spend another massive sum of money on another centre-back.
Imagine if Newcastle spent £27million on a player they weren’t going to use?!

But Arsenal’s decision could benefit the Magpies, with Steve Bruce looking to add a centre-back to his squad this summer.
They face competition for Saliba, with Foot Mercato claiming Southampton and various other clubs across Europe are keen.
