After an incredible month of performances, Ayoze Perez has missed out on being named April’s Premier League Player of the Month.
The award has gone to Jamie Vardy, who is certainly a worthy winner.

The Leicester striker has been in red-hot form, scoring five goals in April under Brendan Rodgers. But there was one team he didn’t score against: Newcastle United.
And in that game, it was Perez who scored the only goal. That was the Spaniard’s first of five strikes in April, which saw him nominated for Player of the Month.

But despite scoring the same number of goals, the Newcastle man has missed out to Vardy.
Perez unlucky not to win it
The 25-year-old was up against some strong competition. Other nominees for the award included Aymeric Laporte, Eden Hazard, Mo Salah and Jordan Henderson.
And Perez was certainly worthy of his place alongside some of the Premier League’s best.

He has been in inspired form, looking like a new player since the arrival of Miguel Almiron. Perez has become reliable and looks a much more mature player.
It’s been a brilliant end to the season for him, and hopefully he can do the same next season…providing he stays, of course.
