Newcastle United and Aston Villa are intrinsically entwined right now, and that is going to continue in the 2024/25 season.
The Magpies did the unthinkable last season, qualifying for the Champions League. It was an incredible accomplishment, becoming the first team outside of the ‘big six’ to reach Europe’s biggest competition since Leicester City.
Eddie Howe‘s side upset the establishment, and something similar could happen this season.
This season, Aston Villa are emulating Newcastle’s success. They have been incredible so far, and currently sit second in the Premier League. If anything, they are eclipsing Newcastle’s achievement of last season as they threaten to mount a title challenge.
The Magpies and Unai Emery‘s team have been breaking tradition as they look to replace the usual mob at the top of the Premier League, and now they are going to be kitted out in the same jerseys.
Aston Villa copy Newcastle with Adidas deal
It was announced last year that Newcastle United’s kits will be made by Adidas next season. The German brand are returning to Tyneside for the 2024/25 season, and will pay the Magpies £40million-a-year to be the club’s new kit supplier.
They will replace Castore, with the British brand’s deal being brought to a premature end.
Now a report from the Telegraph states that Aston Villa are going to do the same.
They report that Villa have agreed a multi-year deal with Adidas to make their kits from next season, meaning that Castore are going to be replaced.

Disaster for Castore
It is all going wrong for Castore, who picked up some huge deals in recent years. Lots of clubs agreed to work with them, but it has not been plain sailing.
There were plenty of complaints from Newcastle United fans, while they did not get off to the best start on Tyneside with that ‘four’ kit from the 2021/22 campaign.
Aston Villa have also had problems, and even complained about the brand earlier this season due to the quality of the shirts. At the start of the campaign, the Villa players were visibly drenched in sweat, with the shirts weighing them down.
Newcastle did release a statement defending the quality of Castore’s gear back in September, but this will be the last season that they work with the Magpies.
Adidas are heading back to Tyneside, and they are also on their way to Villa Park.
