Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley has posted her message of support after what was a big victory against Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle did have the second worst away form in the Premier League at one point with only Sheffield United below them, but two away wins in a row and things are looking a lot brighter.

Staveley took to Instagram to celebrate the team’s most recent success as she claimed Newcastle were ‘amazing’ on the night and that she was ‘so proud’ of them all.

Staveley says Newcastle have been on a great run lately

While the 4-4 against Luton was a disappointing result overall it was still a point gained from two goals down, and looking back on the latest run of fixtures Newcastle look like they may have turned a corner.

After the Man City defeat things were looking a little bit bleak in terms of Newcastle’s hopes for Champions League football, especially with a difficult trip to Villa Park coming up.

However, they’ve now come out of that with three wins and a draw in their last four games in all competitions and have an FA Cup fifth round tie against Blackburn later this month to look forward to.

In her post, Staveley claimed that Newcastle ‘keep showing up’ though they perhaps haven’t always walked away with a victory, but yesterday’s hard fought win was overdue.

On Instagram, Staveley posted: “Amazing performance today. So proud, as always, of this team. They keep showing up and today they bring home 3 points”.

Newcastle’s European dream is well and truly alive

The Magpies were handed the group of death this season in the Champions League as well as dealt an unexpected number of injuries and suspensions that massively hindered them throughout the tournament.

Yes, that’s just the way things go and Newcastle had to deal with it, but it just feels like this team deserve another chance amongst Europe’s elite next season as they can definitely give it a real go with a bit of luck on their side.

The team currently sit in seventh 11 points away from fourth and 10 away from Aston Villa in fifth which could still become an extra Champions League spot.

Staveley and co will be really keen to get back amongst the best in Europe, though they also understand there is no expectation on Eddie Howe to do that again next season and any form of European competition would be considered good progress for Newcastle.
