The defiant takeover message to Newcastle United fans from Amanda Staveley

Amanda Staveley has told Newcastle United fans that the takeover ‘will’ go through in an interview on TalkSPORT on Friday morning.

A group of Toon fans are heading to London for a protest against the lack of transparency regarding the Premier League’s handling of last year’s failed takeover.

The dispute is set to be settled at an arbitration hearing this month. However, the club, the fans and the buyers want that hearing to be held in public.

The government have been asked to intervene, but they claim it is a matter for the Premier League to resolve.

Ahead of the protest, Staveley has spoken to TalkSPORT, and reaffirmed her desire to complete a deal to buy Newcastle United.

“We are looking forward to welcoming you into St James’ Park and we’re looking forward to trying to get this transaction over the wall,” Staveley said.

“And it will do.”

After questions from Simon Jordan, Staveley added: “We are all there, Mr Jordan. We are all passionate about Newcastle, all the consortium members are.”

It was a typical TalkSPORT interview that threatened to descend into a slagging match.

Jordan was his typical self, branding Toon fans gullible and questioning Staveley’s decision to lobby the government.

However, the wannabe Toon owner didn’t fall for it, and reaffirmed her, and the consortium’s, desire to buy Newcastle United.

But will a deal be done?

Arbitration is set to take place this month, meaning a resolution shouldn’t be far away.

In the meantime, the club is standing still with no money to spend and no new arrivals for Steve Bruce to integrate into his squad.

All the while, PIF are reportedly set to buy a stake in the UK-based McLaren group for £550million.
