Allan Saint-Maximin expertly trolls Sunderland on Twitter

Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin isn’t just a talent on the pitch – he also has one of the strongest Twitter games.

The French maverick has been treating fans to brilliant content on the social media site ever since he signed from Nice in the summer of 2019.

The Magpies number 10 was on top form today, when a fan attempted to give it large after Newcastle yesterday announced that the U23s game with the Black Cats had been called off due to heavy snowfall.

The user, with some less than colourful language, said that Sunderland would have won the game anyway.

That was the perfect invitation for Saint-Maximin, who clapped back ‘The Premier League calendar looking for Sunderland season after season’, using the viral video clip of popstar The Weeknd looking lost during his half-time performance at the SuperBowl.

The response from Saint-Maximin has gone down an absolute treat with fans, and is currently sat on over 4000 retweets and over 38,000 likes.

The Black Cats, of course, have been out of the Premier League since their relegation in 2017.

They suffered relegation for a second straight season in 2018, and are still languishing in League One, making Saint-Maximin’s comment all the more cutting.
