Allan Saint-Maximin has posted on Instagram to document his recovery from injury.
The star missed Newcastle United’s 2-0 win over Brentford at the weekend, and also the 1-1 draw with West Ham United.
The Frenchman has been struggling with a calf problem, with Eddie Howe saying he had actually received a bang on it during the game with Aston Villa.
Thankfully for Newcastle, Saint-Maximin’s absence for the last two matches has not really been felt.
The 1-1 draw with West Ham was a decent result against a side pushing for European football.
And Newcastle were really good against Brentford, who did go down to 10 men following a deserved red card for Josh Dasilva.
Newcastle are in a good moment right now, but fans will certainly hope Saint-Maximin’s issue isn’t too serious and that he comes back soon.
The player has posted a video on Instagram this morning of his recovery.
The edited video shows the forward receiving treatment on his calf and the player doing some gym work.
It appears he also found time to go to Cannes to undertake some kind of media duty. In his caption, he has tagged @Helios_Zone, which is a new board game.
He also wrote at the end ‘I’m back’ and then tagged the official Newcastle account.
Newcastle have managed without him, but Saint-Maximin return from injury is needed
Newcastle have done well in Saint-Maximin’s absence but there’s no doubt about it, the Magpies are far better with him in the starting XI.
The club have a tough game coming up against Brighton this weekend.
Graham Potter’s side are having a great season, and the Magpies will neeed to be at their best.
The momentum is certainly with Eddie Howe’s side though, and it would be a major boost to have Saint-Maximin back available.
