Allan Saint-Maximin has promised to send a shirt to a Newcastle United fan after a viral clip from August recirculated on social media this week.
After Newcastle drew 3-3 with Manchester City back in August, Saint-Maximin went over to the supporters to throw his shirt into the crowd.
Multiple young fans were desperate to get Maxi’s jersey, with one girl looking very excited about him coming over. It looked like her luck was in, only for Saint-Maximin to give his match-worn shirt to a young lad behind her, who had a sign dedicated to the Frenchman.
The Sky Sports cameras then lingered on the supporters, with the girl looking somewhat embarrassed that Saint-Maximin didn’t give his shirt to her.
For some reason, the viral clip has recently been doing the rounds on Twitter once again, and it caught the 25-year-old’s attention.
Saint-Maximin to send shirt to Newcastle fan
Saint-Maximin initially reacted to the video on Twitter with multiple laughing emojis, then sent out a message to ask his followers for help to find the fan who did not receive his shirt.
He wrote on Twitter: “Please help me to find her so I can send her a jersey.”

A member of the fan’s family then replied to Saint-Maximin, who then apologised and promised that a surprise was on her way.
It is a happy ending to the story, and a rather surprising one given the video first surfaced back in August.
The clip came after Newcastle drew 3-3 with Man City at St James’ Park, in what was one of the Magpies’ best performances of the season. Eddie Howe’s side were brilliant on that day, with Saint-Maximin producing a man of the match display.
The Toon number 10 was outrageously good, and played a role in all three of Newcastle’s goals. It was hoped that his performance would be the beginning of a tremendous campaign for ASM, but that has not proven to be the case.
He was struck by injury not long after that, and has only recently returned to the starting lineup. However, he was back on the back for Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at the Etihad.
