Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has revealed that his greatest ever Premier League moment was his save to deny Newcastle United’s Miguel Almiron earlier this season.
Newcastle had been 1-0 up at the time with Liverpool down to 10 men after Virgil van Dijk’s sending off, and the Brazilian pulled off an incredible save to keep the Reds in the game.
Speaking to liverpoolfc.com on his greatest ever Premier League moment, Alisson could not look past the incredible stop that proved to be crucial in the game at St James’ Park.

The 31-year-old has had some brilliant moments in a Liverpool shirt since signing from Roma for £67m back in 2018.
You’d be forgiven for expecting the Brazilian to say that his goal against West Brom to keep Liverpool’s Champions League qualification hopes alive was his first choice.
Jurgen Klopp’s side had massively struggled with injuries the year after they won the title and found themselves floundering around mid-table in the first few months of the season. A second-half resurgence saw them fight their way back into top four, and a key goal from Alisson in the 95th minute at The Hawthorns helped to secure that.
But the keeper stuck to his roots when naming what he felt was his best moment.
On the save, Alisson said: “As a goalkeeper you have to go for every ball, you never just look at the ball going into the net, you have to always try.
“It’s what I did in this one, to be honest. It was a really difficult save and a nice save to look [at]. It always feels good and helped the team on that day with the three points.
“I have a feeling this one will be special for us.”

After a brilliant start to the game, Newcastle suffered defeat to 10-man Liverpool after Alisson pulled off what will surely be a save of the season nomination, if not the winner.
The Paraguayan winger could have almost sealed the victory for the Magpies in the first-half, but there’s a reason why the Brazilian shot-stopper is considered one of, if not, the greatest Premier League keeper of the modern era.
Almiron also had another chance in the second-half to put it to bed when his long-range effort hit the post, but it just wasn’t to be Newcastle’s day.
It’s not something that Almiron will look back on with great pride, but there’s really nothing you can do when someone with that ability pulls of a quality save like that.
