Alexander Isak’s goal celebration has been frequently seen by Newcastle United fans.
Isak, after all, has scored 61 goals in 106 appearances for Newcastle United during a remarkable almost three years at the club.
Newcastle paid £63million for Isak from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2022 and it would be fair to say it has worked out rather handsomely.
The scorer of the most important goal in the club’s modern history during the Carabao Cup final last month, Isak is undoubtedly one of the best forwards in world football right now.
The sight of him wheeling away in celebration has been seen 26 times across all competitions this season.

Isak generally gestures back to the field of play with this thumb pointing over his shoulder.
It’s not the only celebration he has in his locker, but Isak was asked about it recently and gave a rather cryptic answer in response.

Alexander Isak refuses to explain Newcastle United goal celebration
The forward was speaking to the YouTube channel Men In Blazers.
During the interview, Isak was asked about where such a celebration originated from.
Rather than explaining it, however, the 25-year-old hinted that he simply couldn’t find the words in English.
He also suggested the story would one day come out…
“That’s for another day,” he said.
“It’s a bit complicated. I don’t really know how exactly to explain it in English.
“I’ve got an idea in Swedish but it’s for another day.”
What is Alexander Isak’s market value now?
Thankfully, it seems Isak is set to stay at Newcastle this summer, partly because rival teams simply cannot afford him.
That’s not to say Newcastle would willingly sell even if they could, just that a lack of heavy spending on just one player due to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules naturally helps.
| Goals | Games | Assists |
| 106 | 61 | 10 |
According to Transfermarkt’s recent market value update, Isak is now considered the Premier League’s sixth-most valuable player at £84million.
Frankly, even that seems cheap. Isak is surely worth well over £100million to Newcastle.
Hopefully one day, we get to hear exactly what that celebration means…
