Adam Armstrong has again left some Newcastle United supporters feeling uncomfortable, with the striker hitting a hat-trick for Blackburn Rovers yesterday.

The 24-year-old took his tally to 24 goals for the season in the Championship, as Rovers beat Huddersfield Town 5-2 at Ewood Park.

That result sees Tony Mowbray’s side remain in 15th in the table.

Armstrong’s goals have been vital for the club this term – without them, it’s likely a relegation battle would have beckoned.

It’s been a great season for the star, and his form has led to speculation about a possible exit this summer.

Newcastle have actually been linked with a potential swoop for their former star.

TEAMtalk claimed last month that the Magpies were keen to do a deal for the ace, valued at around £16 million, this summer.

On Twitter, Armstrong posted after his three-goal haul against Huddersfield, and there was a response from Newcastle legend Alan Shearer.

One wonders if Shearer would be keen to see Armstrong head back to St. James’ Park for a second bite of the cherry.

With Andy Carroll likely leaving this summer when his contract expires, speculation will undoubtedly increase.
