Newcastle United have hit a new low under Steve Bruce.
As far as Saturday nights go, watching Bruce’s side get battered off Brighton is about as bad as it gets.
The Magpies were appalling from minute win, and things got worse and worse as the game went on.

Despite this being a must-win game, Newcastle showed no attacking intent.
Ryan Fraser was the only Toon player to come close, hitting the post in the second half.
But Bruce’s side were pulled apart by Brighton, for the second time this season.
At the start of the campaign, the Seagulls won 3-0 at St James’ Park. Now they’ve done the double with another 3-0 blitz.
For reference, this is a club that struggles to put away changes scoring six goals in 180 minutes against the Magpies.

Alan Shearer sums it up for Newcastle fans
Anger is at an an all-time high for Newcastle fans right now.
This has to be the end of the road for Bruce. He should’ve gone ages ago, but this simply has to be the last straw.
It was a shocking performance, although Toon legend Alan Shearer used a different word.
Reacting to the game on Twitter, Shearer simply tweeted: “Abysmal.”
And that’s exactly what it was.
Newcastle were excruciatingly bad. They were embarrassing. It was a pathetic performance.
As Shearer says, they were abysmal. And they have been for a long time under Bruce.
This has to be his final game in charge.
