Newcastle United’s U23s are in action today, with Leeds United the opponents in West Yorkshire.
Chris Hogg and Peter Ramage’s side face the Division Two leaders and are seeking to achieve a league double over the Whites, having come back from 3-0 down to win 4-3 back in November.
Leeds have won nine of their last ten matches at home though, so form suggests three points will not be easy.
But Wilson is confident heading in after notching against rivals Sunderland last time out, and believes the team have been preparing well.
He told the club’s official website: “I feel like everyone has been buzzing about it.
“It’s been going well in training and I feel the people have a point to prove from the last game because we should have beaten Sunderland and I think a lot of the team think that too.”
The England U18 international has suggested there has been a really intensity ahead of the game, adding: “There is healthy competition within the squad because everyone wants to be in the starting eleven.
“In training, there is a lot more players and it’s a bit more edgy with tackles flying around but it can only be a good thing.”

It sounds like the club’s youngsters are really up for it today.
Wilson claims tackles have been ‘flying around’, and one wonders if that is the case at Steve Bruce’s first-team training.
