Newcastle United fans have begun to question the chemistry between midfielders Matt Ritchie and Miguel Almiron after the pair’s out of sync performance against Arsenal.

The Toon gave a woeful display against The Gunners on Monday night, consistently giving the ball away in a 2-0 defeat.

But besides the generally poor play from NUFC, Newcastle fans seemed to be asking just one question:

Does Matt Ritchie ever pass to Almiron?

Almiron signed for Newcastle in January and his impact on the team has been clear to see so far.

The Paraguayan’s style and tempo have helped give Newcastle’s attack fresh energy, complimenting Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon.

But despite Almiron clicking with his forwards, some fans believe there is still work to be done with Ritchie.

The Scotsman seems to frequently ignore Almiron’s runs in behind during games, electing instead to play the ball to other teammates.

This isn’t always a problem, but considering the Paraguayan is Newcastle’s most direct player, Toon fans always want him on the ball.

Newcastle fans just cant understand Ritchie’s decision making, and its starting to grate on them.

Ritchie’s role-change to left wing-back this season could still unlock a dangerous partnership with Almiron on the left flank, but he must start linking up better with Newcastle’s record signing.
