One of Newcastle United’s summer targets has now responded to Tino Livramento’s post after he scored his first ever goal for the club against Wolves.
Newcastle were back to their best on Saturday and capped off a great victory with a brilliantly worked goal that saw them keep all three points at St James’ Park.
Livramento took to Instagram to celebrate his goal after a great driving run in to Wolves’ box, and Joshua Zirkzee was keen to join in with the celebrations with his good friend.
Newcastle target happy for Livramento
The news emerged that Newcastle were tracking the striker in January, though nothing was ever going to come of the interest at the time given the lack of funds they had available to them.
There is still a chance of a summer mover, however, with Newcastle keen to add to their attacking options as Callum Wilson could be destined to leave the club, meaning Alexander Isak would be the only natural striker.
Zirkzee has been impressive while at Bologna, but he was previously at Bayern Munich, who have the option to re-sign him for £34m, which is likely to explain why he has become good friends with Livramento.
The striker often played with Jamal Musiala at Bayern who formed a bond with Livramento during their time at Chelsea’s academy, so this could be the link between them despite Livramento and Zirkzee never playing in the same team.
On Instagram, Livramento had posted: “+3 and my first goal in black and white⚫️⚪️✅”.
Zirkzee then responded with: “Love it t”.

Zirkzee could be ideal Wilson replacement for Newcastle
Eddie Howe won’t want to lose such a good goalscorer in the summer, but his fitness record means he’s simply not reliable and Newcastle can’t afford to have injury prone players if they want to reach the very top.
Should they be able to get around £15m for his services then there’s a good chance he could be off, and give his current long-term injury there’s a chance he may have already played his last game for the club.
Zirkzee is still young at 22-years-old despite having spent time at Bayern where he won a Champions League, and he could be a good backup to have for Isak who also has struggled with injuries while at Newcastle.
With nine goals and four assists in Serie A this season, the Dutch striker is enjoying his best season of his young career and Newcastle may want to capitalise before his transfer fee gets any higher.
