Former Newcastle United winger Andros Townsend has finally got himself a new club.
The 32-year-old has been a free agent since the end of last season after he was released by Everton.
Townsend did spend time on trial with Burnley, but Vincent Kompany’s side decided against signing the midfielder.
That was a crushing blow for Townsend, but now the ex-Toon hero has got himself a contract elsewhere as he continues his career in the Premier League.
Andros Townsend signs for Luton Town
Newly promoted Premier League side Luton Town have announced on Wednesday afternoon that they have signed Townsend on a free.

The former England international has agreed a short-term deal until January with the Hatters, and will wear the number 30 shirt.
It is excellent to see Townsend get himself a new club, having suffered a horrendous injury in 2022. He has not played a competitive senior game since March 20th 2022, where he was stretchered off during an FA Cup defeat to Crystal Palace.
The Eagles are another one of Townsend’s former clubs. They actually bought him from Newcastle for £13million in 2016.
He only spent half a season at St James’ Park, but he performed brilliantly in black and white. Townsend was a real fan favourite, scoring four goals in 13 appearances for the Magpies.

However, his efforts could not stop Newcastle from suffering relegation. And when they went down, Townsend got a transfer back to the Premier League.
It was an understandable decision, and he will be playing against the Magpies once again later this season. Eddie Howe’s side are yet to face Luton, who are 17th in the Premier League after eight games.
The move to Kenilworth Road will see Townsend play alongside another former Magpie, as Tim Krul also signed for Luton Town earlier this year.
