Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier was spotted limping off against AC Milan tonight after being substituted off.
The England international was brought off in the 63rd minute as Dan Burn was introduced to replace Trippier in the Newcastle defence in the closing stages of the game.
And as per the Chronicle’s Lee Ryder via Twitter, Trippier was seen hobbling off the pitch, potentially adding to Newcastle’s growing list of injury problems.
The £12m defender has been one of the healthiest players for Newcastle this season with Trippier starting every Premier League and UEFA Champions League game for the Toon.
Yet with the defender playing as many minutes as he has this campaign, it appears that Trippier’s fitness has finally hit a wall in tonight’s European clash against Milan.
Indeed, whilst there’s no official word yet on what has happened to Trippier, the defender being seen hobbling off at St. James Park could be a massive blow for Magpies in the coming weeks.
Newcastle United will struggle without Kieran Trippier this month

With Newcastle fully in the depths of the festive period, any more additional injuries could see Eddie Howe’s side fall completely off.
And fans will be holding their breath over Trippier’s fitness, with the England international simply too good to be out on the treatment table alongside half of the Newcastle squad.
This year has been brutal for the Toon as player after player has been struck down with some form of injury problem.
And Trippier potentially joining the growing list of injured players is the last thing Newcastle wanted to see, with crashing out of Europe already bad enough for the Toon supporters tonight.
