Newcastle United captain does not start for Newcastle United at Bournemouth.
The Brazilian has enjoyed a bright start to the season, helping Newcastle United secure their first win of the season against Wolves last weekend.
After playing all 90 minutes against Barcelona on Saturday, there were question marks over whether he would be in Eddie Howe’s starting XI.
It has now been confirmed that the 27-year-old has been left out of the starting lineup, with Sandro Tonali and Lewis Miley running the midfield at the Vitality Stadium.
With Bruno Guimaraes missing out, the reason for his omission is clear.

Bruno Guimaraes rested for the Bournemouth clash
Guimaraes has worked incredibly hard over the last few weeks, playing both at club level and internationally.
The midfielder played twice for Brazil under Carlo Ancelotti and was thrown straight back into the starting XI for Newcastle’s win against Wolves a few days later.
Guimaraes then played the whole 90 minutes against Barcelona, so it was clear he needed a rest. Howe has realised that and dropped the captain to the bench against Bournemouth.
It is a complete formation change for Newcastle after the defeat to Barca on Thursday, with Howe opting for a back five with Lewis Hall getting himself back into the starting lineup.

Confirmed Newcastle United lineup vs Bournemouth
Howe has made a staggering seven changes from the Barca game, with Malick Thiaw making his first start since signing for Newcastle in August.
Joining Guimaraes in dropping to the bench includes Kieran Trippier, Joelinton, Anthony Elanga and Harvey Barnes.
Despite all of the changes, Newcastle are still able to field a strong squad on the South Coast while having several top options available on the bench.
