There was no second goal for Nick Woltemade as Newcastle United laboured to a 0-0 draw with Bournemouth on Sunday.
Once again, Eddie Howe’s side drew a blank as Newcastle United drew 0-0 away at Bournemouth in the Premier League.
In isolation, a point away at one of the division’s form sides after a tough European game on Thursday night is by no means a bad result.
However, in the wider context of this season, it’s disappointing. Indeed, Newcastle continue to struggle for goals in the post-Alexander Isak era.
Woltemade, who scored the winner on his debut against Wolves last week, was isolated during the game and Lee Ryder of The Chronicle noticed one particular moment of frustration.

Nick Woltemade asks Newcastle United teammates for a better ball
Taking to social media platform X, Ryder pinpointed a moment in which the German international appeared annoyed with some of his teammates.
Woltemade pointed to his feet after his teammates missed one of his runs into the Bournemouth half.
“Woltemade pointing to his feet after again not getting the ball following an #nufc foray into the Bournemouth half,” wrote Ryder.
That is perhaps natural. These are still very early days in the Woltemade era at Newcastle and teammates are still getting used to playing with a very different type of striker.
Nick Woltemade stats for Newcastle United vs Bournemouth
It would be foolish to be too harsh on the German. In glimpses, he looked very good on the south coast.
Still, it obviously wasn’t the most amazing of performances – although that is true of Newcastle as a whole.
As per FotMob data, Woltemade managed 37 touches against Bournemouth – four of which came in the opposition’s penalty area.

| Minutes played | 84 |
| Touches | 37 |
| Touches in opposition box | 4 |
| Shots | 0 |
| Chances created | 0 |
He did not, however, manage a shot or create a chance.
Again, blaming solely him for that is unwise. Clearly, though, Newcastle are still getting used to having a striker of his profile in the team.
Hopefully, things all start to click soon…
