Sean Longstaff asks Alexander Isak an important question after scoring against Wolves

Sean Longstaff has asked Alexander Isak the question that every Newcastle United fan wants to know after beating Wolves on Sunday.

Isak scored Newcastle‘s first goal of the afternoon, finding the net with a wonderful header following Kieran Trippier‘s free-kick. Miguel Almiron then secured victory in the second half, as the Magpies ended their run without victory.

It was a massive win for Eddie Howe, who made five changes to the side that lost to Manchester City in the previous game. One change saw Isak start in favour of Callum Wilson – a change that fans were hoping Howe would make.

It proved to be the right decision, with the 23-year-old producing his best performance in a Toon shirt since his £63million arrival.

Isak scored his fourth Newcastle goal, and it was a vital one. But his performance was about more than just his goal. He led the line brilliantly, pressing from the front and causing real problems with his speed.

The forward combined brilliantly with Allan Saint-Maximin, and could have scored more had it not been for some resolute defending from Wolves.

Sean Longstaff wants to know something about Alexander Isak

After the game, Isak took to his official Instagram account to post a picture of him celebrating his first half goal.

He added the caption: “Back to winning ways!

The Sweden international received plenty of replies. Sven Botman told him he was the man of the match, while he was praised by Toon legend Alan Shearer as well.

There was also a reply from Longstaff, who asked: “How you so good?”

Isak is going to be a superstar for Newcastle

Ignoring the horrendous use of the English language, it is an excellent question from the Geordie midfielder. Just how is Isak so damn good?!

We are still yet to see a huge amount from Isak, but the early signs are incredibly promising. There is pressure on him to deliver because of the price tag, and that pressure has only intensified due to his injury last year.

But he has majorly impressed when he has played, and clearly has the potential to become a superstar in black and white. All four of his goals have been very different, which must be hugely encouraging for Howe.

There are so many different elements to his game. He has pace to run in behind, but he can also drive from deep with his dribbling ability. He is tall too, and can play with his back to goal – and he will only get better at that as he becomes more used to the physical Premier League style. And the most important thing is that he is a goalscorer.

Newcastle spent big on Isak last summer, but he will be well worth the investment if he can consistently play like he did against Wolves.
