Newcastle will be looking to avoid three defeats in a row as they face Leicester on Friday night.

A win will pretty much guarantee safety for the Magpies, but the Foxes are in great form. Brendan Rodgers has them playing good football, and they have won their past four Premier League games.

With Florian Lejeune out for the season, Rafa Benitez will need to make at least one change to his side. But will there be any more?

Dummett to replace Lejeune

It was heartbreaking to see Lejeune’s season come to an end. The defender had been brilliant since his return.

But the show must go on, and Paul Dummett should take his place like he did off the bench against Palace. Dummett is competent enough to play as the left centre-back, but sadly isn’t as good in possession.

DeAndre Yedlin was at fault on Saturday, conceding the penalty that gave Palace the win. However, it would be surprising if the American lost his place.

Diame is needed

Mo Diame missed our last game, but Benitez says he has everyone available bar Lejeune and Sean Longstaff.

We’ll need the midfielder’s energy against a talented Leicester side, who have players capable of opening up our defence.

Diame should come in for Ki, who didn’t do enough with his chance against the Eagles. Neither did Jonjo Shelvey, who was far from impressive off the bench.

Pressure on the three amigos

It would be surprising to see Benitez make a change to his front three. However, the pressure is on them to start performing.

With the likes of Christian Atsu and Yoshinori Muto sitting on the bench, Benitez has options should he wish to change things.

Ayoze Perez has played a lot of football this season, so would be the most likely to be rested. But picking up one more win is vital, so Rafa probably won’t want to rest one of his favoured players.

Predicted lineup to face Leicester: Dubravka; Schar, Lascelles, Dummett; Yedlin, Diame, Hayden, Ritchie; Perez, Almiron, Rondon.
