Ahead of a huge game, Cardiff have received a massive boost by announcing the loan signing of Oumar Niasse from Everton.

The Bluebirds needed reinforcements up front, and the addition of Niasse will give them confidence as they prepare to face Newcastle.

The forward has struggled in England, but became a bit of a cult hero at Everton, as well as scoring five times for Hull during a loan spell. With Newcastle short of options up front, the 28-year-old would have been a good option for Rafa Benitez.

Alas, he has instead strengthened a relegation rival at the worst possible time. And Wales Online have confirmed that Niasse is available to play at St James’ Park.

Niasse could give Cardiff an advantage

Before the arrival of Niasse, Cardiff’s attack looked more toothless than Newcastle’s.

This was clear when the sides met earlier in the season. A poor Newcastle side wasn’t put under any real pressure by the Premier League newcomers. But Neil Warnock has now added reinforcements, and Niasse is certainly a player that can make a difference.

The 28-year-old can certainly cause our defence problems in a game that is simply must win.

Newcastle won’t face two new strikers

Things could have been worse for Newcastle, with Cardiff also looking to complete a deal for Argentinian forward Emiliano Sala.

The Nantes striker has scored 12 goals in Ligue 1 this season, with Cardiff keen to bring him to the Premier League. However, Warnock confirmed that he won’t be signed in time to face Newcastle.

Cardiff are certainly making efforts in the transfer market to aid their survival mission, something that Newcastle aren’t doing. It could certainly have an impact on proceedings at St James’ Park tomorrow.
