Newcastle United will be without Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento for their trip to Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.

In truth, Arsenal versus Newcastle United is a game Eddie Howe’s side could do without.

How many more points will Newcastle United get this season? 👀

Personally, I'm not confident of getting a single one 😂

The Magpies are in dreadful form and their Premier League campaign ended long ago. The season cannot get much better from here, but it can yet get worse – with more defeats only likely to invite even more pressure on Howe.

Still, Newcastle United do have a recent rivalry with Arsenal, so hopefully that can stir something out of a group of players who look like they need the season to end.

Here’s the latest Newcastle United team news.

Newcastle United predicted lineup vs Arsenal

Gordon missed the defeat to Bournemouth last weekend anyway, while Livramento came off injured.

As such, it’s not hard to see little change in their starting lineup down at the Emirates Stadium. Kieran Trippier is a natural replacement for Livramento, while Harvey Barnes looks the most likely to start alongside William Osula and Anthony Elanga.

What changes would you make to this team?!

Fat chance either Woltemade or Wissa get in right now it seems 😂

Bruno Guimaraes finally returned from injury last weekend and could make further progress by starting here.

Newcastle United predicted XI vs Arsenal: Ramsdale; Trippier, Thiaw, Burn, Hall; Guimaraes, Tonali, Miley; Elanga, Osula, Barnes

Injured: Gordon (hip), Livramento (groin), Schar (foot), Krafth (knee)

Suspended: Joelinton

The only non-injury related confirmed absentee is Joelinton, who will serve the last of his two-match suspension.

Howe has confirmed that Guimaraes has trained all week, too.

During Friday’s pre-match press conference, Howe spoke of why neither Nick Woltemade nor Yoane Wissa feature ahead of Osula up front despite their hefty price tags.

His comments would certainly suggest that a return for either is reasonably unlikely at this stage.

When asked about the pair, he said: “Like with every player that is not playing, they have to show their worth in training and that’s their shop window for me to pick them.

“How they train, how they commit to the training and how much they are prepared to put individual disappointment to the side for the team to then come back fighting but I believe in both players still, I’ve got no issues with either of them.

“They have unique qualities to offer the team but it’s got to be on merit and deserved. They are both outstanding players and will be better for next season.”

Newcastle United injury latest vs Arsenal

Gordon and Livramento will miss Newcastle’s next game with hip and groin injuries respectively. It remains to be seen if either play again this season.

Fabian Schar is still recovering from foot surgery, while Emil Krafth is not expected to play again this season following knee surgery earlier this year.

Newcastle do not have their full squad available and that will seemingly likely be the case right up until the end of this most miserable of campaigns.
