Newcastle United have confirmed their starting lineup to play Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The headline news is that Nick Pope returns to the Newcastle United team for the first time since he was dropped after a defeat to Everton back in late February.

Why do YOU think Eddie Howe keeps ignoring Nick Woltemade? 🤔

The man has scored ten goals this season!

That change sees Aaron Ramsdale drop to the bench against his former club.

There is also a first start in well over two months for Bruno Guimaraes, who made his return to action following a hamstring injury and a bout of mumps with a cameo appearance against Bournemouth last weekend.

Eddie Howe deploys what looks like a front three of Jacob Murphy, William Osula and Joe Willock.

Jacob Ramsey joins Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali in midfield. Lewis Hall is dropped, with Dan Burn playing at left-back. Lewis Miley operates at right-back.

Thoughts on this team? 🫣 That front three is a concern…

Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento are injured for Newcastle against Arsenal, along with Fabian Schar and Emil Krafth.

Joelinton, meanwhile, has been ruled out due to suspension after amassing ten yellow cards for this season. Having missed the defeat to Bournemouth, the Brazilian will be available again for next week’s game against Brighton.
