Newcastle travel to Brentford this evening looking to reach the last four of the Carabao Cup.
The Bees are flying high in the Championship and Steve Bruce will have to ensure his team are prepared.
The Magpies have beaten Blackburn, Morecambe and Newport to reach the quarter-final of the competition.
Ahead of tonight’s game we looked at the team which Bruce could call upon.
In goal and back four
Mark Gillespie has kept goal in previous rounds of the competition and could keep his place here.
DeAndre Yedlin played at right-back on Saturday but Emil Krafth could come in for the trip south.
At centre-back, Bruce isn’t blessed with an abundance of options so Federico Fernandez and Isaac Hayden could be called upon.
At left-back, Jamal Lewis will probably come in to replace Paul Dummett who played on Saturday.
Ryan Fraser came on as a substitute at the weekend and could earn a start in this one.
He could play on the left of a flat four, with Jacob Murphy coming in for a start on the right-hand side.
The flyer signed for Newcastle for £12 million in 2017 and scored in a previous round against Morecambe.
Jeff Hendrick could get the chance to start in midfield and with Bruce wary of the threat Brentford pose, Jonjo Shelvey could also play through the middle.
Callum Wilson has eight goals to his name this season but it seems certain he will get a rest this evening.
Bruce will likely opt for a little and large combination tonight.
Andy Carroll is yet to really get going since returning to Newcastle and he could partner Dwight Gayle.
The 30-year-old recently scored the winner in the game against West Brom and will be keen to get back on the goal trail tonight.
Here is how Newcastle’s team could look this evening:
