Newcastle United failed to take their chances as they were beaten by Fulham.
Eddie Howe’s side suffered a disappointing collapse after going ahead early at St James’ Park.
Fans were hoping Newcastle’s 3-1 win against Southampton would have been capitalised upon. It initially looked like it was going to be another win for the Magpies when Jacob Murphy scored his fourth Premier League goal of the season.
Tino Livramento was unlucky not to double Newcastle’s lead a few minutes later.
Fulham took control of the second half and got their equaliser just after the hour mark through Raul Jimenez.
Marco Silva’s side would take the lead after 82 minutes thanks to a clever flick by Rodrigo Muniz from close range.
The defeat means Newcastle have now lost their last two games at St James’ Park, a ground that is usually a fortress under Howe.
Here’s how the players rated in defeat.

Martin Dubravka – 6
A very quiet start to the game for the 36-year-old through no fault of his own. Fulham failed to register a shot on target in the first half. Could not do much for either goal.
Tino Livramento – 6.5
It felt like he was everywhere. An electric performance that you want to keep seeing from him. Was played through on goal in the first half only to have his effort well saved by Bernd Leno.
Fabian Schar – 5.5
Surprisingly gave Newcastle their first shot on target of the game. Played much deeper than usual but did not stop Fulham from scoring twice.
Dan Burn – 5
Booked for an unnecessary high foot on Calvin Bassey in the first half but made up for it with an exceptional long ball to Gordon for the goal. Was a catalyst in Newcastle’s disappointing collapse.
Lewis Hall – 6
A quiet performance from the 20-year-old. It did not feel like he was involved in the game too much even when Newcastle were on top.
Bruno Guimaraes – 7
Worked tirelessly in the middle of the park to make things happen for Newcastle. Linked up brilliantly with the wingers and Isak on many occasions throughout the game.
Sandro Tonali – 6.5
Crashed that thunderous effort from 30 yards off the crossbar in the first half. His loose ball was capitalised on by Fulham who went up the pitch and scored just after the hour mark.
Joelinton – 5
Picked up his ninth booking of the season before half-time. The Brazilian is now one caution away from a two-match ban. Taken off after Fulham’s equaliser.
Jacob Murphy – 7
A goal on his 200th Newcastle appearance. A fourth Premier League goal of the campaign for the 29-year-old taken so well inside the penalty area. Was unfortunate to have the ball deflected off him for the equaliser.
Alexander Isak – 6
A quiet showing at St James’ Park after his heroics against Southampton the week prior. Failed to register a single shot at goal until the 75th minute when he hit the bar.
Anthony Gordon – 6
A great solo run from inside his own half for Murphy’s goal. Took his fair share of knocks from the Fulham players but held his own like he usually does.
Substitutes
Joe Willock – 6
Missed a huge opportunity shortly after coming on.
Kieran Trippier – 6
Added some much-needed stability to the back line after the equaliser but could not do enough to keep the scores level.
Lloyd Kelly – N/A
Came on with a few minutes left to play
William Osula – N/A
Did not have time to make an impact.
Lewis Miley – N/A
Was only on for a few short minutes.
