Lewis Hall is in the Newcastle United team who will play Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.
That is a major boost for Newcastle United, who are already without the likes of Tino Livramento, Kieran Trippier and Dan Burn in full-back positions.
Hall missed Newcastle’s win over Fulham with a minor hamstring complaint, meaning Livramento had to cover for him at left-back.
The latter, however, came off injured with a knee problem and is now expected to be ruled out until early 2026.
With that in mind, the return of Hall will be of welcome relief to Eddie Howe ahead of Newcastle versus Chelsea.
Lewis Hall starts 😍 What a relief that is! What else do you make of the team?
Anthony Gordon feels very lucky to get in over Harvey Barnes…
There simply isn’t another option like him in the squad and the England international is joined by Lewis Miley, Malick Thiaw and Fabian Schar in central defence.
Jacob Ramsey, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali make up the midfield three. Anthony Gordon and Jacob Murphy partner Nick Woltemade in attack.
Academy players Sean Neave and Leo Shahar continue in the Newcastle United squad too, having also been named on the bench against Fulham earlier this week.
Newcastle United XI vs Chelsea: Ramsdale; Miley, Thiaw, Schar, Hall; Guimaraes, Tonali, Ramsey; J. Murphy, Woltemade, Gordon
Subs: Ruddy, Joelinton, Wissa, Barnes, Elanga, Willock, A. Murphy, Shahar, Neave
