Newcastle United rolled back the years as Eddie Howe’s side turned on the style to all-but relegate West Ham United.

A William Osula brace followed Nick Woltemade’s opener as Newcastle United raced into a two-goal lead in their final home game of the season at the break.

Where did that come from?! 😂 Give us YOUR reaction as Newcastle roll back the years! 😍

The rest of the game largely passed without further incident until Osula’s second goal brought something out of a response from the Hammers, who pulled one back when Taty Castellanos scored a brilliant consolation.

Here’s how Geordie Boot Boys rated the players…

Nick Pope – 8/10

Brilliant double save to deny Taty Castellanos, and to deny Malick Diouf with the follow up. Harsh to criticise Pope for the wonder goal late on.

Kieran Trippier – 8/10

What a way to go out. Trippier rolled back the years at times on his final home appearance for the club.

Malick Thiaw – 8/10

Thiaw stood up very well when West Ham did threaten to build up a head of steam.

Sven Botman – 8/10

Botman gave old teammate Callum Wilson very little to go off. Great to see and a reminder of old times.

Lewis Hall – 8/10

Who said Hall was a right-back? Excellent performance and hopefully just in time to catch the eye ahead of the World Cup.

Bruno Guimaraes – 8/10

Fantastic stuff from Guimaraes. St James’ Park is his playground when he plays like that. How differently this season could have gone had he been fit.

Sandro Tonali – 7/10

Shame to see Tonali taken off injured on what could be his final home game. Was playing well until then.

Jacob Ramsey – 9/10

It’s taken a while for Ramsey to really come good but that was surely his best performance yet. That was a statement of intent – he should now replace Joelinton as a starter.

William Osula – 9/10

Looked so confident taking his goals. Brilliant work from Osula, who looks positively unsellable right now.

Nick Woltemade – 8/10

Really good to see him end what has been a difficult season strongly. Excellent work from the German, who almost assisted Barnes in clever fashion.

Harvey Barnes – 7/10

Brilliant ball to Woltemade to tee up the first goal.
